Bio
Infectious, playful music that creates space for fun, longing, and connection is at the core of everything Satellite Birdhouse does. Stacy DuBois and Troy Huizinga’s songwriting combines story-driven lyrics with intricate melodic harmonies landing them wide acclaim, frequent airplay, a Capital Music Award and, more importantly, a place in the lives of listeners.
As music and life partners, the folk rock duo take inspiration from old photographs, lush landscapes and local lore as well as the music of Joni Mitchell, Indigo Girls and Suzanne Vega. And their attention to detail lyrically, musically and in the studio for their self-produced collection of songs is a gorgeous remedy to sonic shortcuts. Satellite Birdhouse songs are cozy, vivid, and authentic.
